Young Adults (Sanctuary)
YOU Belong here! Black Rock’s young adults community (18-35 year olds), also known as “Sanctuary”, is committed to creating an environment where any person in any part of his or her faith journey can be transformed by Jesus. As college students and young professionals, we desire to live out BRC’s core values to Love God, Love People, and Serve Our World by focusing on honoring God and others, choosing mercy as our default response, and centering our lives on generosity. Our expression of these values begins with our Sunday evening service, and continues through our small groups, retreat, and mission trips.
Sunday Night Service | 6:00-7:15 pm
Sanctuary's Sunday night worship service is an energized atmosphere that features a talented band, an engaging speaker, and times to experience God through worship, community, and media! We'd love for you to join us Sunday nights at 6 PM at our Fairfield campus as we worship God and learn more about Him. We also highly suggest to schedule time to hang out after the service at our café or local Fairfield County restaurants. You can get a preview of what a Sunday night service looks like on our Instagram.
We believe that God designed us to live in intentional community with Him and with others. Our lives are enriched when we do life together throughout the week in a small group. Our small group seasons are broken up into three terms: Spring (January-May), Summer (June-August), and Fall (September-December). Our spring and fall terms have small groups that meet at different locations Sunday-Thursday, and our summer term has one small group that meets at our Fairfield campus on Thursdays.
The Sanctuary Retreat
Once a year, Sanctuary takes a trip offsite to grow in faith, friendships, and fun. This is more than just a reset from the pressures and distractions of everyday life - it is an amazing time for us to experience God's presence in a new and refreshing way, and to be encouraged and challenged by those around us. Join us on our next retreat in late Winter, and check out our Instagram to find out more!
Serving & Missions
At Sanctuary, we want to be known for our generosity with our time, resources, and serving. We believe that the greatest leader is not self-centered, but others-driven. We have multiple serving teams that help make our Sunday night service, small groups, and retreat happen, but we also have people serve our neighborhood and our world by partnering with local and global ministry partners.
We impact our neighborhood by serving alongside Urban Impact, a non-profit group that works in the PT Barnum area of Bridgeport.
We impact our world through our partnership with World Relief Jordan. We support amazing work empowering people living in poverty, bringing hope to orphans and other vulnerable children, and caring for people displaced by civil war.
If any of these serving opportunities interest you, get in touch with us to find out how you can help make a difference!
