I'm your Senior Pastor and I began attending Black Rock as a teenager in 1977. In 1987, after Wheaton College and Gordon Conwell Seminary, I joined the Black Rock pastoral staff. I am only the 8th senior pastor in Black Rock's 170 year history! In 1996 I earned a Ph. D. in theology and church history from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. As part of this degree, I wrote a book on the colonial American pastor, Jonathan Edwards, entitled: Jonathan Edwards' Principles of Awakening Preaching. At Black Rock, I lead the Pastoral Staff and the Elders; am responsible for the planning of our weekly worship services; and handle most of the preaching. My wife Jen and I have college-aged twins Caileigh and Parker. For fun, I like trips into NYC for the museums, shows and those hot pretzels.
