Hi my name is Andres Ayala and I was born in Bridgeport, CT and raised partly in Brookfield, CT, but ended up back in Bridgeport during my eighth grade year. While in high school, I began attending Fusion, Black Rock’s high school ministry. I quickly became involved and that is when I began to feel the calling God placed in my life to go into ministry. As a college student at the University of Tampa, I began leading with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship leading a Bible study for Latino students as well as a Men’s Bible study. I graduated from the University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management.
As a college student who would come back home to Connecticut every summer, I became involved with our young adult ministry, Sanctuary. After two years as a participant, I applied for a summer internship position and haven’t left. I have been involved with Black Rock Church as a General Intern, Sanctuary Intern, Summer Adventure Camp Counselor, and Sanctuary Fellow. After interning and working for the church in different capacities, I came on staff as the Internship Coordinator and Bookkeeper! I love working with college aged students as they discover the calling God has placed on their lives.
Outside of spending time with college students and dreaming about ways to build leaders, I enjoy spending time with friends and watching the movie "Moana" with my nephews. I am also a foodie and enjoy sitting and talking with people about their life and how God is moving in it. Feel free to bring me a cinnamon scone from the Café if you see me!
