I moved to Connecticut from Northern Minnesota in 1991 to care for a young boy who has autism and came to Black Rock at the invitation of a long-time member. My connection with a young adult group here led to the renewal of my faith and commitment to serving, membership and Baptism at Black Rock.
I once served as a receptionist here and met my husband Mark while serving in the youth ministry. We have been married for over 20 years and have 2 children, Brianna (in college) and Joshua (in high school). After a second career as an Occupational Therapist, I now work with children with special needs in Fairfield Public Schools. My experience and love for this population also gave me a desire to minister to Black Rock families who have children with special needs. I now serve in our “Shine” ministry every Sunday guiding these families along their journeys.
In my spare time, I am an avid UConn Women’s Basketball fan, enjoy spending time with my family or on the sidelines as a soccer mom, watching a good family movie, reading, listening to music and hanging out with a good friend.
